Meet Monique and Jeroen. In May 2025 we signed a binding agreement with them, and at the beginning of 2026 they will complete the purchase of Casal dei Fichi.
Monique and Jeroen stayed with us for two nights in May and decided that their years-long search for the perfect property was over.
Before they left, we had reached an agreement. Five weeks later the paperwork was complete and on Friday 20 June 2025 we had a video call with Monique and Jeroen, their adult sons Pepijn and Xander, and Monique's mother to raise a glass to the future of Casal dei Fichi under new ownership in 2026.
The sale will be completed at the beginning of next year. Monique and Jeroen plan to continue operating Casal dei Fichi as holiday apartments, keep the pizza parties and change relatively little. Naturally, they will make improvements, modernise the property and put their own welcoming stamp on Casal dei Fichi. They also plan to organise courses and workshops between holiday periods, which we are sure will be a great success.
Living here has been a dream come true, and we are confident that we are handing Casal dei Fichi over to a couple who will bring all their passion to running it. We know they will enjoy this way of life just as much as we have over the past 20 years.
Meanwhile, as promised, we are making the most of our final season. Almost every week we say an emotional goodbye to returning guests who have become good friends, but we know we will stay in touch and see one another again in the future.
We have bookings until mid-October, but there is still some availability in July and August. So if you would like to hear Bob say “flour your bottom” one more time and laugh as though you have never heard it before, we would love to welcome you here once more!
